How to make a Healthy Grazing Board

How to Make a Healthy Grazing Board

This Gluten Free & Dairy Free charcuterie board has something for every taste and the perfect option when you need to impress your party guests without spending too much time in the kitchen.

All you really need is a pretty serving board, a variety of foods to satisfy any pekishness that comes with socializing and the know-how to display said food in order to make it inviting for your guests to dig in.

Not having a party? No problems. I love putting together grazing boards like this for those moments in between lunch and dinner when you just feel like a snack. I'll throw together some fresh veggies, True Story smokey turkey breast, crackers, dips and some dark chocolate and snack away on with my hubby while writing up recipes for you guys.

The sky is the limit when it comes to different flavor combinations. I've broken down the boards into 5 different components.

1. SWEET

I always like to add a little sweet in with the savory, here I've included dark chocolate covered cashews and strawberries.

Other options could include:

  • Dates

  • Figs

  • Grapes

  • Pomegranate

  • Persimmons

  • More Berries

  • Dark chocolate squares

  • Dark chocolate covered chickpeas (so yum)

  • Or any other dark chocolate covered nut

2. SAVORY/CRUNCH

When it comes to the veggies, you want easy to grab, easy to dip veggies that have a nice crisp crunch to them. One this board I used radish, mini carrots and snap peas.

Other options could include:

  • Celery

  • Cucumber sticks

  • Mini Gherkins

  • Mini Sweet Peppers

  • Bell Pepper sticks

I'll always include a cracker of some kind, here I used Simple Mills Almond Flour Rosemary Herb crackers, these are both Gluten Free and Paleo.

3. PROTEIN

Adding protein to your board helps bulk it up and is the perfect component to either dip right into your pesto or top onto your crackers. Here I used True Story Foods Smoked Turkey Breast and a selection of Nuts for a healthy source of protein and fat.

Other options could include:

  • Smoked Salmon

  • True Story Foods Roasted chicken breast

  • Salami (if you're into Pork)

  • Hard boiled eggs, cut in half

4. SPREADS/DIPS

A grazing board wouldn't be complete without something to dip or spread onto your food. One of my favorite things about these boards is that each time you can end with a completely different flavor combination on your plate. I like to add a healthy fat like avocado, some form of dairy free cheese and a spreadable dip.

Here I used a Cashew Cheese from Miyokos Creamery, and an almond based dairy free Pesto dip from Bitch'n Sauce

Serves 3-4

How to Make

What you'll need

  • 1 serving board

  • 1 serving of Pesto Bitch'n sauce

  • 1 avocado, cut in half

  • 1 cup snap peas

  • 1 wheel Miyokos Creamery cashew cheese

  • 3-4 pieces True Story Food Smoked Turkey Breast, rolled up

  • 20 Simple Mills grain free crackers

  • 7 small red radishes

  • 6-8 strawberries

  • 15 mini carrots

  • 1/2 cup mixed nuts

  • Handful dark chocolate covered cashews (or other chocolate)

What to do:

  • Follow the video above with placement.

  • A general rule of thumb is placing each food tightly together. With the dip and cheese placed close to the middle and 1-2 ingredients scattered to fill in dead space.

  • Serve and Enjoy x
