At a first glance, everything about this Vegan Protein Soft Serve recipe just screams unhealthy. But don't let first impressions get the better of you, because this recipe is full of veggies, healthy fat, protein and only has the sugar of half a banana per serving (plus a little natural sugar from the protein powder).
Have I won you over yet?
The protein used in this recipe is Aloha Moment Vanilla Protein powder. This protein is completely plant based (made with Hemp seed, pumpkin seed and pea protein) and is the best tasting protein powder I've tried to date. Its all natural, contains no soy or fillers and has 18 g of protein per 2 scoops with only 4g of sugar content from monk fruit and coconut sugar. Another thing that won me over is the complete amino acid profile and 200mg of omega-3s in this powder. You would be surprised as a vegan how many people ask me how I get my amino acids, now I can tell them I get it by eating soft serve!
Ohh to see the confusion on their faces..
Any who, now that we got the nutritional info out of the way, the recipe! Once blended this recipe can be added to a piping bag and swirled onto a waffle cone, to really get those soft serve feels. Or you can simply spoon into a dessert bowl and enjoy it the OG way.
Serves 2:
What you'll need:
1 frozen banana
1 cup frozen cauliflower (riced is best)
1 cup steamed then frozen butternut squash
3 scoops Aloha Moment Vanilla Protein Powder
1/2 cup raw cacao
2 tbsp almond butter
1/2 cup almond milk
Optional toppings:
Puffed quinoa
Coconut flakes
Slivered almonds
Cacao nibs
Shaved dark chocolate
What to do:
In your high powered blender (or food processor) blitz all ingredients until well incorporated and you have a smooth and creamy consistency.
If you're struggling a little to get the ingredients blended, try adding 2 tbsp of milk at a time to help withy the creaminess.
Spoon into a dessert bowl and enjoy immediately. Alternatively transfer to a piping bag and swirl into your fav waffle cone
