BLUEBERRY ELIXIR SMOOTHIE

This blueberry smoothie is my go to when I'm not feeling the green smoothie vibes and feel like something a little more indulgent. The addition of frozen blueberries up the antioxidant levels and help with the thickness. But the real hero ingredient is almond butter. If you want a thick, rich and delicious smoothie just add almond butter, it really is a game changer.

I've also been getting into adaptogens lately and Ashwaganda has become a new daily addition to my diet. This ancient Ayurvedic herb helps calm the nervous system and balance the hormones. It has done wonders for me since I started taking and would highly recommend it to those that need a little adrenal support or anyone that has a high stress life or unbalanced hormones.

The brand I use is Sunpotion however Banyan Botanicals also sells it at a fraction of the cost.

Serves 1:

What you'll need:

  • 1/2 cup frozen blueberries

  • 1 banana (cut into coins and frozen)

  • 1 scoop vanilla protein powder (I use Vega Vanilla Protein & Greens)

  • 1 tbsp almond butter

  • 1 cup unsweetened almond milk

  • 1/2 tsp ashwaganda (start with a small amount and build yourself up to 1 tsp doses per day)

What to do:

  • Put all ingredients into a high powered blender

  • Blitz on high until all ingredients are blended and you have a thick and creamy consistency

  • Pour into a large glass, sprinkle with hemp seeds

  • Enjoy x
