Sugar Free Choc Chip Protein Smoothie

Sugar Free Choc Chip Protein Smoothie

If you love chocolate as much as me then you'll love this thick & creamy sugar free choc chip smoothie. Full of healthy fats like avocado and almond butter, along with fibre from ground flax seeds, this smoothie will not only satisfy those cravings, but keep you full while you're at it.

This smoothie is made with a protein powder I just started using. To give you an idea, it lasted just 2 weeks in our house of 2. Its THAT good. Its by Silver Fern Brand and it ticks so many of the boxes I look for in a protein powder. It’s

  • Organic

  • Soy Free

  • Less than 1g sugar

  • 2.5g net carbs

  • 1g fat

  • 20g clean plant protein

  • Contains probiotics & digestive enzymes to promote a healthy gut

  • and contains 39% of your daily iron requirement

Serves 1:

What you'll need:

  • 1/2 avocado, frozen

  • 1 scoop chocolate protein powder (I use Silver Fern Brand)

  • 1 cup plant milk of your choice. (I use unsweetened almond milk)

  • 5-6 ice cubes

  • 1 tbsp ground flax seeds

  • 1 tsp vanilla extract

  • 1 tbsp cacao nibs

  • Toppings: 1 tbsp almond butter, 1 tsp hemp seeds, 1 tsp cacao nibs

What to do:

  • In a high powered blender (like a Vitamix or Blendtec), process all your ingredients except the cacao nibs until you've reached a smooth and creamy consistency

  • Add in your cacao nibs and blend for 30 seconds. You want to break up the cacao nibs enough that they're small but not completely blended.

  • Transfer to a large glass and top with almond butter, hemp seeds and more cacao nibs.

  • Enjoy x
